Modelling the pandemic

           control of COVID-19 in Malaysia

           Key findings:

Prior to the recent resurgence since
           September, Malaysia had achieved early
           effective control of COVID 19.

           Movement Control Orders (MCO)
contributed to significant changes in mobility
           patterns.

Relaxation of macro and micro distancing
measures was projected to significantly affect
the magnitude of the COVID-19 pandemic.

           Possible elimination strategies include:

           • Aggressive local control
           • Macro-distancing measures including
restriction of movement between parts of
               the country
           • Targeted protection of high risk and
               vulnerable population
           • Prevention of reintroduction of infection
               by traveler
           • Widespread testing and high level of
               situational awareness
           • Micro-distancing measures such
as wearing of masks and physical
               distancing
